Jennifer's Success Story
Breast Implant Removal or Explant Surgery (En Bloc Capsulectomy with Mastopexy)
“WONDERFUL - That would be the word I’d use to describe Dr. Leland Webb and his staff. His bedside manner is amazing. I never got the feeling that he was trying to upsell me or talk me into a bunch of other procedures. He was very honest, very direct, and did a very thorough assessment to make sure that he could get me some good results,” proclaims Jennifer B., a patient at Webb Plastic Surgery in Paradise Valley, AZ.
After two children, aging and hormonal changes, Jennifer was ready to let go of her breast implants. According to her, Dr. Webb took a lot of time listening to her and explaining the process. She said Dr. Webb made it very clear that he wanted her to feel better and that he was going to help her.
“I had some friends who got their implants taken out and they were talking about how happy they were. I did not want to part with mine. I loved them every single minute I had them. They made me more proportionate, they did what they were supposed to do, but eventually it came time to take them out,” mentioned Jennifer.
According to Jennifer, the physical result of what Dr. Webb was able to do with what he was working with (19 year old implants and two children) actually exceeded her expectations. She said it was great that Dr. Webb conveyed realistic expectations and what really stood out are his bedside manner and character. “The way he explained things - he doesn’t talk down to you, he’s not at all patronizing or condescending,” describes Jennifer. Jennifer related that Dr. Webb did not try to upsell her and was very respectful. “Having your breasts manipulated by a male doctor could be unsettling, but never did I feel uncomfortable. He always had Adrian, his medical assistant, with him to chaperone and help out.”
After the surgery, Jennifer said that she felt better slowly, but surely. “I can breathe! That was the very first thing I noticed - it was easier to breathe!” She also related that she can now move better and does not feel her breasts are obtrusive. “I can move better, my clothes fit better and that there’s a psychological impact as well,” shares Jennifer
“My only regret is not doing it sooner - do it now! He’s an artist. Probably anyone could get the implants out, but to work with 40-something year old breasts, 19 year old implants, two kids breastfed - that’s art. It gives me chills actually,” Jennifer said. “That’s artistic. Absolutely do it. You’re in good hands in terms of how he can reconstruct what you have.
“It was very easy to work with Dr. Webb. I appreciate the honesty and the lack of condescension and the time he spent - you can tell that he genuinely cares about his patients and their outcomes.”
